ABOUT
Olha Borovets is a filmmaker, actor, and storyteller dedicated to crafting narratives that connect, challenge, and inspire. Born and raised in Ukraine, she discovered her passion for storytelling through the world of theater, where she experienced firsthand the power of performance to evoke emotion and spark conversation. At the age of nine, she passed the casting for the lead role of Pollyanna, which marked the beginning of her acting career at The Rivne Academic Ukrainian Music and Drama Theater.
Currently studying at Bard College at Simon's Rock in the United States, Olha explores the film industry from both a theoretical and practical perspective, honing her skills by creating her own films. Her latest short film, Step Back, exemplifies her passion for collaboration and storytelling. This project was more than just another film for her—it was a personal challenge in leadership, as she successfully managed a team of 13 people, bringing her vision to life.
Her work focuses on giving voice to untold perspectives, capturing the rawness of human experience, and exploring themes of identity, resilience, and transformation. She believes that film has a unique ability to unite people, create empathy, and shift perspectives. Through her filmmaking, she strives to craft stories that feel honest and lived-in, reflecting the struggles and triumphs that define real life.
Olha is proficient in Adobe Premiere Pro, experienced with cameras such as the Blackmagic 6K, and understands how to design effective lighting on set. She also has practical skills in ADR (Automated Dialogue Replacement) and is always open to collaboration with other artists.

My values
Giving back is an essential part of my life. I started volunteering at the age of six when I donated my toys to orphans. Today, I actively support Ukrainian volunteer organizations through fundraising and participate in as many volunteer events as possible.

Nature has always been a big part of my life. I love spending time outdoors, whether it's hiking, exploring new places, or simply enjoying the fresh air. Being in nature inspires me, grounds me, and fuels my creativity.

I love caring for animals and keeping flowers in my room.

I love filmmaking because it allows me to capture moments and tell stories. I’ve been filming my life since I was seven years old when I got my first camera. Over the years, this passion has filled my phone and hard drives with countless memories. Beyond just documenting, I love being behind the camera as a director, shaping narratives and bringing visions to life.

Usually, I am so involved in the process that I never take pictures on a set.
